Thunderstorms, hail and strong winds forecast for several regions Tuesday

The National Center for Meteorology, in its weather report for Tuesday, forecast thunderstorms accompanied by hail over parts of Jazan, Asir, and Al-Baha, extending to the highlands of the Makkah region. Strong winds raising dust and sand will also affect these areas, as well as parts of the Eastern Province, Riyadh, Northern Borders, Al-Jouf, Tabuk, and Madinah.

The report noted that surface winds over the Red Sea will be northwesterly to northerly at 15-35 km/h on the northern and central parts, reaching over 45 km/h in the central section. Winds will be northwesterly to westerly at 10-34 km/h, exceeding 50 km/h with thunderstorm activity in the southern part. Wave heights will range from half a meter to two meters, exceeding two meters in the central section during thunderstorms in the south.

The center added that sea conditions will be slight to moderate, becoming rough in the central Red Sea, especially during thunderstorms in the south.

Winds over the Arabian Gulf will be northwesterly to northerly at 15-40 km/h on the northern and central parts, and northwesterly to northeasterly at 10-25 km/h on the southern part. Wave heights will range from half a meter to one and a half meters in the north and center, and from half a meter to one meter in the south. Sea conditions will be slight to moderate in the north and center, and slight in the south.
