Indian national executed in Eastern Province for methamphetamine smuggling

The Ministry of Interior on Monday carried out the execution of an Indian national convicted of smuggling methamphetamine into Saudi Arabia. The sentence was implemented in Dammam, Eastern Province, after all legal procedures were completed.

The ministry said security authorities arrested Lovely Rana, an Indian citizen, who was charged with trafficking methamphetamine. He was found guilty of the charges against him.

The competent court issued a verdict confirming the crime, which was upheld by the relevant authorities, making the ruling final. A royal order was then issued to carry out the sentence in accordance with Islamic law.

Crackdown on drug offenses

The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting public security from the dangers of narcotics and to imposing the strictest penalties on traffickers and dealers, given the serious harm these crimes cause to society.

The ministry warned that anyone attempting to smuggle or distribute drugs would face severe legal consequences.
