Legislative reforms strengthen rule of law in Saudi Arabia, says public prosecutor

Public Prosecutor and Chairman of the Public Prosecution Council Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Yousef has affirmed that the legislative reforms underway in Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, are enhancing the prosecutorial environment, reinforcing the rule of law, and supporting the Kingdom’s comprehensive development drive.

In a statement marking World Law Day, Al-Yousef emphasized that law is fundamental to safeguarding rights and upholding justice. He noted that the rule of law, the clarity of its provisions, and the efficiency of its implementation all boost confidence in the Public Prosecution system and contribute to the security and stability of society, as well as to sustainable development.

Al-Yousef added that the Public Prosecution exercises its duties independently in accordance with the law, aiming to protect rights and guarantees, safeguard society, and help achieve justice.

Ongoing development in prosecutorial practices

In this context, the public prosecutor pointed out that the ongoing development of prosecutorial practices, the adoption of technological capabilities, and the enhancement of human resources are part of the institutional transformation program at the Public Prosecution, aimed at improving performance and keeping pace with legislative progress in the Kingdom.
