Jeddah Municipality has announced the closure of two unauthorized sites for food production and preparation in the Harazat and Al-Qaws districts in the east of the governorate. Authorities destroyed 2.5 tons of food products, shut down the sites, and confiscated equipment as part of a joint inspection campaign to enhance food safety and protect consumers.

Municipality spokesperson Mohammed Al-Buqami told Al-Ikhbariya TV that the municipality issued and renewed 13,221 health certificates during September, and tested 8,355 food samples through its laboratory department as part of ongoing inspections of health-related establishments.

Al-Buqami explained that inspection tours covered health establishments across 11 sub-municipalities, aiming to increase compliance rates among commercial and health facilities, improve service quality, and ensure the safety and security of food provided to residents and visitors.

The spokesperson confirmed that field inspections will continue to monitor compliance with health regulations at food establishments and raise adherence levels. He noted that the "Baladi" platform allows establishments to issue and print health certificates electronically, without the need to visit the municipality, by linking medical test results with the Health Ministry platform.
