Man arrested for illegal tree cutting in Prince Mohammed bin Salman Reserve

The Special Forces for Environmental Security have arrested a Saudi citizen for violating environmental regulations by cutting down trees without a permit in the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Royal Reserve. The individual was found in possession of an electric saw. Legal procedures have been taken against him, and the confiscated items have been handed over to the relevant authorities.

The forces clarified that the penalty for cutting, uprooting, transporting, removing, or trading trees from vegetated areas without a license can reach up to 20,000 riyals (SAR) per tree. They urged the public to report any environmental or wildlife violations by calling 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 999 and 996 in other regions of the Kingdom.
