Saudi Passports Directorate highlights benefits of e-gates for travelers

The General Directorate of Passports has introduced e-gate services, allowing travelers to complete their travel procedures independently with ease and speed.

In a statement on its official X account, the directorate said the e-gate service is part of ongoing efforts to enhance services for citizens, residents, and visitors, and to implement advanced technologies at border crossings.

The directorate explained that the service offers several advantages, including streamlining and accelerating travel procedures. Travelers can complete the process themselves through simple steps: scanning their travel document and then capturing a facial image for identity verification.

The authority also emphasized that travelers should not wear glasses, masks, or hats while taking the facial photo to ensure the procedures are completed accurately and successfully.
