Saudi Arabia and Mauritius sign MoU to boost anti-corruption cooperation

Saudi Arabia, represented by the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority, and Mauritius, represented by the Financial Crimes Commission, signed a memorandum of understanding today to enhance cooperation in preventing corruption and tackling cross-border crimes related to corruption.
The agreement was signed on behalf of Saudi Arabia by Mazin bin Ibrahim Al-Kahmous, President of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority, and for Mauritius by Titerudyo Dawoodarry, Chairman of the Financial Crimes Commission.

The memorandum aims to strengthen institutional cooperation, exchange information and expertise, build capacity, and develop specialized practices in integrity protection, corruption prevention and control, and combating cross-border crimes related to corruption, in line with the United Nations Convention against Corruption.

During the visit, Al-Kahmous met with Mauritius Prime Minister Dr. Navin Ramgoolam and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade Dhananjay Ramful, in the presence of Saudi Ambassador to Mauritius, Fayez bin Mishaal Al-Tamiyat.

The meetings reviewed bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Mauritius and discussed ways to enhance cooperation in integrity protection, corruption prevention and control, and the exchange of expertise and best practices. The talks also focused on supporting international efforts to promote transparency and good governance, and strengthening cooperation in combating financial crimes and cross-border corruption.

The visit is part of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority's efforts to expand its international presence and partnerships with peer agencies and international organizations. These efforts aim to exchange expertise, develop institutional capacity, and support global initiatives to protect integrity and prevent and combat corruption, reinforcing Saudi Arabia's role as an active partner in promoting integrity and transparency in line with Vision 2030 goals.
