King Abdulaziz Public Library to join IFLA 2026 conference in South Korea

King Abdulaziz Public Library will take part in the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA 2026) conference and exhibition, which will be hosted in Busan, South Korea, from August 10 to 13, 2026. The participation reflects the library’s ongoing international presence and its commitment to sharing expertise and building partnerships with library and knowledge institutions worldwide.

At its dedicated pavilion, the library will showcase its most prominent projects and unique initiatives, as well as present a selection of its latest publications. These works highlight various aspects of Saudi culture, including artistic and creative elements and national heritage. The library will also display notable releases in literature, thought, philosophy, translated works, encyclopedic and scientific books, and children’s literature, underscoring its status as a leading cultural and knowledge institution in Saudi Arabia.

The library’s participation will also spotlight several strategic projects, most notably the Unified Arabic Index, the Mobile Libraries Project, and Learning Resources Services. In addition, it will introduce its specialized services in information organization, support for scientific research, digital transformation, and user services.

This involvement aligns with the library’s strategy to keep pace with the latest global developments in the library and information technology sector, and to learn from leading international experiences in artificial intelligence and knowledge management by attending scientific sessions, research presentations, workshops, and professional meetings at the conference.

The participation also aims to strengthen cooperation with global library institutions and highlight the Saudi experience in developing library services, contributing to knowledge exchange, supporting innovation, and advancing library and knowledge work in line with best international practices.
