King Abdulaziz name to be given to major new mosque in Riyadh

Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh expressed his gratitude to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the royal directive to name a new mosque in northern Riyadh after King Abdulaziz. The mosque will be built on an 88,000-square-meter site along King Abdulaziz Road.

He emphasized that this decision reflects the leadership’s ongoing care and support for mosques and their commitment to serving Islam and Muslims. Al-Sheikh noted that naming the mosque after King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud carries profound national and historical significance.

The minister recalled that since its founding, the Kingdom has been dedicated to upholding the Quran and the Sunnah, caring for mosques, and serving Islam and Muslims. He described the planned mosque as a future landmark and symbol of loyalty to the nation’s founder, who unified the country, established its foundations on monotheism, ensured security and stability, and prioritized the construction of mosques and the service of the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors.
