Arab and international solidarity with Saudi Arabia after East-West pipeline attack

Widespread Arab and international solidarity has emerged in response to the attacks targeting the East-West pipeline in the Riyadh and Madinah regions of Saudi Arabia.

Egypt condemned the incident as a blatant violation of international law that undermines the security and stability of the region, reaffirming its full support for Riyadh in facing any threats.

The United Arab Emirates also rejected the attacks, describing them as a flagrant breach of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and a threat to its security and stability. The UAE reiterated its support for all measures to safeguard the Kingdom, stressing that the attacks targeted civilian infrastructure and constituted a clear violation of international law, as well as Saudi sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Pakistan reaffirmed its unwavering support for Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, security, and prosperity. It reiterated its solidarity with the Kingdom’s leadership, government, and people, adding that Pakistan has always made sincere efforts to achieve lasting peace and stability in the region and will continue to do so.

The Iraqi government condemned the attacks, rejecting any act that threatens Saudi Arabia’s security and stability or harms the strong fraternal ties between the two countries. The government also appreciated Saudi Arabia’s response to Iraq’s efforts to contain the situation, considering it a reflection of the Kingdom’s commitment to Iraq’s security and stability and to strengthening bilateral cooperation in the interests of both peoples.

Iraqi Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi, ordered an urgent investigation into the circumstances of the attacks and those responsible, and called for legal action against anyone found to be involved.

The Iraqi government stressed it will continue to work with regional partners and allies to prevent such attacks from recurring, uphold respect for the law and the principles of good neighborliness, protect Iraq’s interests, and enhance its positive role in the region.

US President Donald Trump, commenting on the attack on the Saudi oil pipeline, said that everything would be fine, suggesting that Iran was likely responsible for the incident.
