UN commends Princess Al-Anoud Foundation for advancing community development

Saudi Arabia’s 2026 voluntary national report to the United Nations on progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals has highlighted the significant role played by the Princess Al-Anoud Foundation in empowering Saudi society. The foundation is recognized as a leading non-profit organization contributing to community development and enhancing quality of life.

According to the report, the foundation delivers services through six specialized centers targeting people with disabilities, the elderly, women and girls, youth, refugees and rural residents, as well as families and children. This reflects a comprehensive approach to reaching all segments of society across the Kingdom.

The report noted that the foundation has partnered with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to implement tailored training programs for refugees residing in Saudi Arabia, reaffirming its commitment to serving all beneficiaries without discrimination. The foundation also applies a “volunteer branches” model to expand its services to remote and peripheral areas in partnership with local entities.

The report detailed that the foundation operates an integrated network including the Warf Center for Youth Development, Tadreeb International Training Center, Shaden Center for Child and Family Development, Rami Center for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Nafe’ Center for Volunteer Work, and Sakeena Center specializing in prevention of both digital and substance addiction. It has also launched the Euro-Arab Social Economy Fellowship Program to develop leadership in the non-profit sector.

In public health, the report stated that the foundation introduced the Kingdom’s first specialized diploma in drug prevention, titled “Diploma in Protection and Advanced Strategies for Preventing Psychoactive Substance Abuse,” in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of National Guard.

The report explained that among the foundation’s priorities for 2026-2030 is the goal of “sustainable cities and communities” as part of the Sustainable Development Goals, leveraging its extensive network of centers and volunteer branches across Saudi Arabia. The foundation has also included “zero hunger” in its future plans to expand food security and community development initiatives.

The inclusion of the Princess Al-Anoud Foundation in Saudi Arabia’s voluntary national review reflects growing recognition of the non-profit sector’s role in supporting the goals of Vision 2030 and contributing to sustainable development both nationally and internationally.
