The General Secretariat of the Arab Interior Ministers Council strongly condemned the Houthi terrorist attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh this afternoon, which resulted in injuries.

In a statement issued from its headquarters in Tunis today, the Secretariat denounced the cowardly terrorist act and unequivocally rejected the ongoing hostile actions of the Houthi militia, including repeated attacks on aviation facilities, civilians, and civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. The statement described these acts as blatant violations of international law and a threat to regional security and stability. The Secretariat affirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and support for all measures taken to safeguard the Kingdom’s security, stability, resources, and the safety of its citizens and residents.

The General Authority of Civil Aviation announced that on Thursday (27 Rabi Al-Akhir 1448 AH), corresponding to October 8, 2026, King Khalid International Airport was targeted by two attacks: the first struck airport facilities, while the second targeted a Saudi Arabian Airlines aircraft. Emergency teams and relevant authorities responded immediately according to established procedures and plans.

The attacks resulted in the deaths of three Saudi citizens and injuries to several citizens and residents of various nationalities, with injuries ranging from minor to severe. The wounded were promptly transferred to hospital for necessary medical care. The attacks also caused some material damage.
