Saudi health minister discusses expanding health and investment ties with Uzbek leaders

Saudi Minister of Health Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel met today with Uzbekistan's Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev, in the presence of Uzbek Health Minister Eldor Adilov and Deputy Minister Ilhamjon Umarzakov. The meeting, held at the start of Al-Jalajel's official visit to Uzbekistan, focused on ways to strengthen health cooperation and develop partnerships between the two countries.

The talks reviewed the strong bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan and explored opportunities to expand cooperation in key areas, including the development of healthcare systems, digital transformation, medical and pharmaceutical industries, and the enhancement of health sector skills and capacities. The discussions also addressed boosting targeted investments in the health sector to serve mutual interests and support sustainable development in both nations.

Al-Jalajel and Uzbek officials, joined by Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov, also reviewed the Fergana Hospital project. They received a briefing on the project's latest developments, operational plans, and main components.

The hospital will have a capacity of 800 beds and consist of 10 floors with comprehensive healthcare facilities and services. Saudi company Vision Invest is participating in the project as part of an international consortium, reflecting the depth of investment and health cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan and highlighting the private sector's role in supporting major health initiatives.

These meetings come as part of the growing relationship between Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan and the commitment of both countries' leaderships to broaden cooperation in health and investment. The efforts align with Saudi Vision 2030 goals and reinforce the Kingdom's position as an active partner in developing health systems and building sustainable international partnerships.
