Somalia condemns attack on Taibah power station in Madinah

The Federal Republic of Somalia has strongly condemned the attack on the Taibah power distribution station in Madinah.

In a statement on Monday, Somalia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that targeting infrastructure in a city that serves one of Islam’s holiest sites constitutes a violation of the sanctity of sacred places. The ministry added that the attack is a clear breach of international law and Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty. Somalia expressed its full solidarity with the Saudi government and people, and affirmed its support for the Kingdom’s efforts to safeguard its sovereignty, security, citizens, residents, and visitors to the holy sites.
