Defense minister: Activation of Mecca Agreement to boost security, stability

Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman has reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to advancing the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement, saying its implementation will enhance political and defense integration and support security and stability in the region.

Writing on X, Khalid bin Salman said he led the Kingdom’s delegation at the inaugural meeting of the Political and Defense Strategic Committee for the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement, where participants reiterated their determination to continue activating the agreement’s pathways.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the defense minister met with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir. The two sides reviewed prospects for military and defense cooperation between their countries.
