Key Takeaways
AIThe King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Award for Translation participated in the inaugural Translation Association Conference, held in Riyadh in partnership with the College of Languages and Sciences at King Saud University, under the theme "Translation in a Transforming World," on Wednesday and Thursday.
The conference brought together leading specialists and experts in translation from Saudi Arabia and abroad. The award introduced visitors to its objectives and its six categories, which include translation in the humanities, natural sciences, individual and institutional efforts, as well as translation in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
Dr. Saeed bin Fayez Al-Saeed, Secretary-General of the award, explained that participating in such events allows direct engagement with translators, researchers, and relevant institutions, raising awareness of the award and its categories, and inviting them to contribute to bridging knowledge and fostering constructive cultural dialogue between the Arab world and other cultures.

Dr. Buthaina bint Mohammed Al-Thuwaini, International Communication Advisor and member of the award's scientific committee, said on this occasion: "The award's participation with an informational booth at the conference extends its mission. Knowledge is a shared human legacy that no single language owns. From this perspective, the award is committed to promoting translation from and into Arabic by honoring those who carry knowledge across languages and enable dialogue between civilizations."
The award is one of the initiatives of King Abdulaziz Public Library and is granted for outstanding works and significant contributions in translation from and into Arabic. Nominations for the twelfth cycle are currently open until October 31, 2026, through the award's official website.
