Saudi Camel Federation launches live radio station for Crown Prince Camel Festival in Taif

The Saudi Camel Federation on Thursday launched a live radio station on frequency 87.600 FM to provide real-time audio coverage of the eighth edition of the Crown Prince Camel Festival 2026 in Taif. The event is held under the patronage of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.

The station will broadcast a total of 66 hours live throughout the festival, with six hours of daily coverage split into two segments: a morning session from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., and an evening session from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The festival runs until September 13 at the historic Taif Camel Racecourse, with total prize money exceeding 50 million riyals (SAR).

Comprehensive coverage and advanced technology

The federation stated that the initiative aims to provide added value and strategic benefits for owners and participants, offering instant updates on results and recording camels’ finishing times as soon as they cross the line, helping them make quick tactical decisions during races.

The radio coverage also allows listeners to follow camel movements live through detailed race descriptions without the need for screens, using the latest wireless audio broadcast technology to ensure clear signals across 248 competition rounds.

Extensive media coverage

The festival is also receiving comprehensive media attention, combining television broadcasts and modern digital platforms. Television coverage is airing on eight leading channels across the Gulf region and the Arab world.

The broadcasting channels include Saudi Sports Channel, Al Kass 1, Bahrain Sports Channel, Oman Sports Channel, Al Sahraa, Al Bawadi, Al Rayyan, and Yas Channel. These channels are providing advanced analysis studios featuring camel racing experts and analysts to cover every detail of the races and competitions.
