King Abdulaziz Public Library launches 'AI Generation' summer camp in Riyadh

The Child Affairs Department at the King Abdulaziz Public Library in Riyadh has launched the 'AI Generation' summer camp, a unique initiative designed to develop the skills of children, adolescents, and youth in technology, artificial intelligence, and innovation. The camp offers an educational experience that combines technical, cultural, and entertainment aspects.

Targeting participants aged 9 to 15, the camp features a comprehensive training program over eight days, running from July 12 to August 5, 2026, with sessions held twice a week. Attendees will learn the basics of robotics, programming, game design, and 3D printing, alongside cultural and recreational activities that foster creative thinking, teamwork, leadership, and communication.

Sundus Al-Sharif, Director of the Child Affairs Department at the King Abdulaziz Public Library, emphasized that the camp reflects the department's commitment to providing quality programs aligned with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. She noted that the initiative aims to prepare a generation equipped with future skills through an interactive learning environment focused on practical application and nurturing innovation and discovery among children and youth.

She added that the program goes beyond teaching technical skills, also focusing on character building, boosting self-confidence, and refining presentation and critical thinking abilities, ensuring a holistic educational experience that enriches participants both intellectually and practically.

The camp will conclude with participants presenting their completed projects before a judging panel, showcasing the knowledge and skills they have gained and highlighting the importance of investing in young talent to create a generation capable of keeping pace with rapid technological change.

The King Abdulaziz Public Library offers a variety of programs for children and youth, including skill and artistic talent development, reading initiatives, workshops on traditional crafts, drawing and calligraphy enhancement, children's theater performances, and a range of new story and book releases that promote children's cultural growth.
