Saudi-Omani ties key pillar of Gulf cooperation, says ambassador

Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Oman, Ibrahim bin Saad bin Bishan, has emphasized that relations between the Kingdom and Oman are a fundamental pillar supporting the Gulf Cooperation Council, reflecting both countries’ commitment to enhancing regional stability and coordinating political and economic positions to serve the interests of the region’s peoples.

Ambassador bin Bishan made his remarks on the occasion of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq’s visit to Saudi Arabia, noting that the visit underscores the deep-rooted historical and fraternal ties between the two countries and their peoples, as well as the attention and care these relations receive from the leadership of both nations.

The ambassador explained that Saudi-Omani relations are built on a long history of brotherhood, good neighborliness, and mutual respect, and have been characterized for over half a century by ongoing cooperation, understanding, and coordination between the leaderships on various regional and international issues.

A model for Gulf relations and joint cooperation

Bin Bishan noted that the visit carries significant meaning amid the changes and challenges facing the region, as relations between the two countries serve as a model for Gulf relations based on dialogue, understanding, and coordination, which strengthens the region’s security and stability and supports paths of development and prosperity.

He added that bilateral relations are not limited to the political sphere, but also encompass the fields of economy, investment, trade, tourism, culture, and media.

Future partnership and promising projects

The ambassador stated that relations between the two countries are moving toward a new phase of future partnership, including clean energy and green hydrogen, Gulf-wide electricity and rail interconnection projects, as well as joint tourism initiatives to develop destinations through exchange programs and joint marketing plans.
