Jeddah authorities shut down 18 illegal warehouses in closed compound

A joint field campaign carried out by Jeddah Municipality has led to the closure of 18 illegal warehouses inside a closed compound in the southern part of the city. The warehouses, which stored clothing, furniture, honey, herbal products, food items, and products with medical claims, were discovered in cooperation with several relevant authorities.

The campaign revealed a range of violations within the compound, which had been used to store and distribute goods in contravention of regulations. The sites included nine clothing warehouses, two honey production warehouses, two furniture and homeware warehouses, one food warehouse, one mobile accessories warehouse, one warehouse storing products with medical claims, and one herbal products warehouse. Field teams have begun taking legal action against the violators in coordination with participating agencies.

The operation was part of ongoing efforts by Jeddah Municipality, represented by the Agency for Sub-Municipalities and overseen by the General Administration for Monitoring and Addressing Negative Phenomena, with the participation of the Ministry of Commerce, the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, Civil Defense, and field enforcement teams. The campaign aims to strengthen compliance with municipal regulations and protect residents.

The municipality urged citizens and residents to report any municipal violations through the "Balady" app or the unified call center (940), to help ensure swift action and improve compliance.
