Jazan Health Cluster and Red Crescent save five acute heart attack patients

The Jazan Health Cluster, in cooperation with the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, has successfully saved five patients suffering from acute heart attacks by transferring them directly from their locations to the cardiac catheterization lab at Prince Mohammed bin Nasser Hospital. The transfers were carried out under the approved heart attack response pathway and coordinated with the Resource Control Center (RCC). Upon arrival, the patients underwent primary cardiac catheterization procedures and were later discharged in good health.

The cases included a 43-year-old Saudi citizen who was airlifted from Al-Haqo Center in April, and a 44-year-old Saudi citizen transferred from a hotel in Jazan city in May.

In June, the medical team handled two cases: the first was a 55-year-old Yemeni resident transferred from his workplace in Jazan city, and the second was a 48-year-old Saudi citizen transferred directly from Abu Arish governorate. In July, a 52-year-old Yemeni resident was transferred from Sabya governorate, where he successfully underwent urgent therapeutic intervention.

This achievement is the result of effective collaboration between the Jazan Health Cluster and the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, reflecting the efficiency of the rapid response system for critical cardiac cases through direct coordination between ambulance teams, the Resource Control Center (RCC), and Prince Mohammed bin Nasser Hospital.

The Jazan Health Cluster noted that activating the direct transfer pathway to the cardiac catheterization lab has reduced the time between diagnosing a heart attack and opening the affected artery, increasing survival rates, reducing complications, and enhancing the quality of healthcare provided to beneficiaries in line with best medical practices.
