Kingdom University president: Mawhiba scholarships based on merit and fair competition

Kingdom University president Saud Al-Shunaifi said that scholarships for Mawhiba students are awarded based on standards of excellence, merit, and fair competition, in accordance with the admission and eligibility criteria set by universities.

Speaking to Al-Ekhbariya TV, Al-Shunaifi added that these scholarships are not granted through direct selection. Instead, Mawhiba students are nominated according to admission standards, followed by procedures that include document verification. Applicants are then shortlisted based on their qualifications and the availability of seats in each program.

The King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) and Kingdom University recently signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at supporting talented students and enabling them to continue their academic journey through a merit-based scholarship program. The initiative seeks to attract national talent and prepare a new generation of leaders and innovators who can contribute to the Kingdom’s future.
