Eastern Province governor launches faith-building program to promote moderation

Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, today launched the 'Faith-Building' religious awareness program at his office. The initiative is being implemented by the regional branch of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance across various governorates and centers in the province.

The launch was attended by Omar bin Faisal Al-Duwaish, Director General of the ministry's branch in the region. Prince Saud bin Naif emphasized the importance of such programs in strengthening religious awareness and promoting sound doctrinal concepts among community members. He noted that these efforts help protect society from harmful ideas, reinforce the values of moderation, tolerance, and responsibility, and contribute to social cohesion, stability, and the preservation of Islamic values and principles.

Al-Duwaish explained that the program focuses on reinforcing correct Islamic beliefs and spreading religious knowledge based on the Qur’an and Sunnah. It also aims to promote the principles of moderation and balance, increase religious awareness, and protect the community from intellectual deviations and contemporary misconceptions.

He added that the program targets citizens and residents of all age groups through a series of lectures, scholarly lessons, and awareness activities held in governorates and centers across the region. These efforts are carried out in cooperation with relevant government agencies and security sectors, as part of an integrated approach to religious and awareness-raising initiatives.

Al-Duwaish also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Governor of the Eastern Province for his support and interest in religious programs, stressing that this backing strengthens the branch’s efforts to serve the community.
