Saudi national drowns in waterway in Turkey’s Uzungol region

The Saudi Embassy in Ankara has announced the death of a Saudi citizen who drowned in a waterway in the Uzungol area of northern Turkey. The embassy said it is closely following the incident and coordinating with the relevant authorities to complete the necessary procedures.

According to a correspondent from Al Ekhbariya in Turkey, the citizen drowned in a waterway, and his brother jumped in to try to save him. However, the strong current swept them both away before a bystander was able to rescue the brother.

The correspondent added that the Saudi citizen was transported to the hospital for medical care, but he later died as a result of the incident.
