Qassim Environment Ministry pavilion showcases palm and date services at Buraidah Date Carnival

The Qassim branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, represented by its office in Buraidah, showcased its support for the palm and date sector through a dedicated pavilion at the Buraidah International Date Carnival.

The pavilion featured several sections specializing in palm care, tree pest prevention and control, as well as demonstrations of harvesting, handling, and storage methods. It also introduced visitors to date inspection procedures and pesticide residue testing, all aimed at ensuring product safety and enhancing quality and economic value.

Badr bin Lafi Al-Harbi, director of the ministry's Buraidah office, said the participation reflects ongoing efforts to develop the palm and date industry, and to strengthen engagement with farmers, producers, and consumers to share knowledge and promote the adoption of modern agricultural practices.

Al-Harbi emphasized that coordinated efforts across all stages of date production help boost sector efficiency, product quality, and competitiveness. He added that such initiatives support the sustainability of the palm and date sector and reinforce Qassim's status as a leading date-producing region.
