Al-Baha Development Office hosts workshop for holiday home investors

The Al-Baha Strategic Development Office organized the second edition of the “Midhyaf Al-Baha” workshop for 2026, targeting owners and investors of holiday homes and alternative accommodation units in the region, under the guidance of the Governor of Al-Baha, who chairs the office’s supervisory committee.

The workshop is part of the office’s efforts to enhance and improve the quality of tourism offerings and increase the number of licensed accommodation units, boosting the region’s readiness to welcome visitors and improving their overall experience.

Strengthening Al-Baha’s tourism appeal

The office highlighted Al-Baha’s natural and heritage assets, as well as its diverse terrain and climate between the Sarawat Mountains and Tihama plains, which reinforce its status as a year-round tourist destination. It emphasized the importance of developing accommodation units and raising the quality of services provided to visitors.

The office also noted that the “Tourism Partner Program” works to identify sector partners and connect tourism service providers with destination management companies, tour operators, and travel agencies, aiming to develop integrated tourism products and packages and strengthen coordination between accommodation, experiences, activities, and transport services.

Investment opportunities and regulatory support

The workshop reviewed investment opportunities in converting old and heritage homes into inns and tourist lodgings, contributing to the preservation of local identity and diversifying accommodation options in the region.

Participants were also introduced to the regulatory process for obtaining permits for hospitality facilities through the tourism activities licensing portal, as well as the legal requirements and obligations for permit holders.

The workshop concluded with an open discussion, during which participants addressed key challenges facing accommodation owners and proposed ideas to improve services, as part of the office’s ongoing efforts to empower investors and enhance the readiness of Al-Baha’s tourism sector.
