Border guards arrest 11 Ethiopians in Jazan for smuggling 220kg of khat

Saudi Border Guard land patrols in the Al-Daer sector of Jazan region have arrested 11 Ethiopian nationals for violating border security regulations, after thwarting their attempt to smuggle 220 kilograms of the narcotic plant khat.

In a statement today, the Border Guard said that initial legal procedures have been completed for those arrested, and both the detainees and the seized contraband have been handed over to the relevant authorities.

Security authorities urge citizens and residents to report any information related to drug smuggling or trafficking activities by calling (911) in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and Eastern Province, or (999) and (994) in other regions of the Kingdom.
