Teachers found guilty of serious violations to be permanently barred from education sector

The Public Education Law stipulates that the service of any administrative staff member or teacher in educational institutions will be terminated if found guilty of a serious violation that undermines public order or national unity. Such individuals will not be allowed to return to work in the education sector, whether public or private.

Article 59 of the law states:

"If a serious violation is proven, the individual's service will be terminated, and they will not be permitted to return to work in the education sector, whether public or private. The Ministry is required to complete all necessary procedures in accordance with relevant regulations."

The article also specifies that executive regulations will define the criteria for serious violations.

If the violation is not considered serious, penalties outlined in the Labor Law and the Public Sector Discipline Law will apply, except for dismissal. However, repeated violations may still result in termination of service.

The law grants the Minister of Education, or a delegated official, the authority to take urgent measures if there is evidence suggesting a teacher or administrative staff member has committed an act undermining public order or national unity. These measures may include barring the individual from any work within the educational institution, assigning them to duties outside the institution, or temporarily suspending them from their position in a public educational institution until the case is resolved.
