Three Filipino residents arrested in Yanbu for violating fishing regulations

Coastal patrols from the Border Guard in Yanbu, located in the Madinah region, have detained three Filipino residents for violating safety regulations governing marine activities in Saudi Arabia's territorial waters.

The Border Guard stated that the individuals were fishing without a permit and using prohibited equipment, both of which contravene laws designed to protect the Kingdom’s aquatic resources.

Authorities added that legal procedures have been initiated against the violators in coordination with the relevant agencies.

The Border Guard also urged the public to comply with regulations protecting the marine environment, and to report any violations or harm to wildlife by calling 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 994 in other regions. Reports will remain confidential and informants will not be held liable.
