Justice minister: Institutional maturity, judicial quality key to next phase of commercial court reform

Justice Minister Walid Al-Samaani said during a meeting with the heads of commercial courts that the next phase of developing the commercial judiciary will focus on deepening institutional maturity and judicial quality, building on past achievements to enhance output quality, clarify procedures, and improve user experience.

He highlighted the judiciary's strong support from King Salman and close follow-up by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, stressing the importance of continued development and greater integration in judicial work.

Al-Samaani emphasized the need to use data and indicators to identify opportunities for improvement, which will enhance judicial outcomes, speed up case resolution, clarify procedures, and ensure consistency in practices. He underlined that court heads are responsible for the quality of their courts' performance and stressed the importance of ongoing training and the accumulation of judicial knowledge.

The minister also stressed the importance of viewing the case process from the user's perspective, using feedback and complaint outcomes to refine procedures and address recurring issues.

Regarding the future of judicial work, he highlighted the need to expand the use of artificial intelligence to improve quality, accelerate processes, anticipate potential obstacles, and redesign the case journey for more efficient, higher-quality judicial work and a better user experience.
