Heavy thunderstorms and flash floods expected in several regions Sunday

The National Center for Meteorology, in its daily weather report, forecast moderate to heavy thunderstorms leading to flash floods, accompanied by hail and strong winds, over parts of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah, and Madinah.

The report also indicated a chance of fog forming over parts of these regions, as well as coastal areas of the Eastern Province.

Additionally, the center noted that thunderclouds with strong, dust-raising winds may develop over parts of Najran and the southern areas of the Eastern Province.

Sea and wind conditions

The report stated that surface winds over the Red Sea will be north to northwesterly at speeds between 15 and 38 km/h, with wave heights ranging from half a meter to one and a half meters, and sea conditions expected to be light to moderate.

In the Arabian Gulf, surface winds will be southwesterly to southeasterly at 10 to 25 km/h, with wave heights from half a meter to one meter, and sea conditions remaining light.
