International falcon breeding farm auction opens in Riyadh

The International Falcon Breeding Farm Auction 2026 opens today, Wednesday, organized by the National Center for Falcons from August 5 to 25 at its headquarters in Malham, north of Riyadh. The event features participation from both local and international breeding farms, with preparations complete to welcome falconers, investors, and enthusiasts from Saudi Arabia and abroad.

This auction marks the first event organized by the National Center for Falcons since its new regulatory framework was approved by the Council of Ministers. The initiative aims to enhance the center’s role in developing the falconry sector, supporting investment, building partnerships, and strengthening Saudi Arabia’s position as a global hub for falconry.

The center has finalized preparations for dedicated pavilions for local and international breeding farms, the bidding platform, and falconry supplies stands. The accompanying program includes specialized workshops and awareness activities, offering a comprehensive experience for falconers and enthusiasts. Shipments of falcons from international farms have begun arriving at the auction site, with early arrivals from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Spain, Belgium, Portugal, Germany, France, Slovenia, Poland, Russia, the Czech Republic, South Korea, the UAE, Bahrain, Austria, the Netherlands, Romania, and Ireland. Additional shipments and participants are scheduled to arrive throughout the auction period according to the approved timetable.

The auction brings together local and international falcon breeding farms with falconers, buyers, and investors in a specialized marketplace, expanding marketing opportunities, facilitating knowledge exchange, and boosting the competitiveness of breeding farms, while supporting the growth of Saudi Arabia’s falcon market.

Last year’s auction saw the sale of 1,103 falcons from 67 farms representing 23 countries, including 19 Saudi farms, with sales exceeding 13 million riyals (SAR).
