Saudi Civil Defense has called on residents of Riyadh to adhere to safety procedures after an alert was issued by the National Early Warning Platform for emergencies, warning of potential danger.

The Civil Defense emphasized the importance of remaining calm and following official instructions, advising people to stay indoors, move to an internal room or a safe area away from windows, and not to leave their homes or buildings until the danger has passed.

Guidelines also included avoiding open areas and glass, not standing on balconies or rooftops, and for those outside, to enter the nearest building or take cover behind a solid barrier.

The directorate also stressed avoiding gatherings and refraining from taking photos, and to stay away from hazardous locations. If a warning message is received while driving, it recommended pulling over to the side of the road away from bridges and tall buildings.

The Civil Defense urged the public to call the emergency number (911) in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and (998) in other regions of the Kingdom if any danger is observed.

It also stressed the need to follow instructions issued by the relevant authorities through official channels and to comply with them.
