Public Security chief: We now measure proactive indicators to prevent crime

Public Security Director Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Bassami said that authorities have shifted to measuring proactive indicators to prevent crime.

Speaking at the Security and History Dialogue 2026 conference, organized by the Ministry of Interior, Al-Bassami added that, under the guidance of Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, the strategy is moving from the traditional approach of responding to crime after it occurs to a focus on prevention.

The conference serves as a national platform for dialogue and intellectual and historical exchange, exploring Saudi Arabia’s progress in security and development. It examines the nation’s experience and transformation from multiple perspectives, including security, politics, economy, society, culture, national identity, awareness, international relations, and institution-building.
