Sixth edition of Eastern Province Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Work launched

Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, yesterday launched the sixth edition of the Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Work at his office.

The launch took place during his meeting with Dr. Abdullah bin Rashid Al-Khalidi, Chairman of the Board of Associations in the region, who was accompanied by board members.

Prince Saud highlighted the important role of nonprofit associations in supporting development and strengthening the nonprofit sector’s contribution to society. He stressed the need to enhance institutional performance and adopt best practices that achieve sustainable developmental impact, emphasizing that such excellence and institutional work should directly benefit recipients through high-quality services provided by associations, thereby reinforcing their presence and role in serving the community.

Dr. Al-Khalidi presented an overview of the award’s objectives, fields, and tracks, explaining its aim to promote institutional excellence in the nonprofit sector, encourage associations to adopt best practices, improve performance efficiency, and foster innovation and the development of quality projects, all of which contribute to maximizing and sustaining developmental impact.

He noted that the sixth edition of the award covers two main areas: outstanding nonprofit associations across various categories, and outstanding nonprofit projects, based on criteria that promote positive competition and the dissemination of best practices and experiences in nonprofit work.
