Saudi Data and AI Authority, Bahrain sign MoU to boost AI cooperation

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) and Bahrain’s Information & eGovernment Authority have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening cooperation and exchanging expertise and knowledge in the fields of data and artificial intelligence.

The agreement includes sharing expertise on data governance, as well as exchanging experiences and best practices between the two sides to help build an advanced and sustainable ecosystem in this vital sector.

Both parties emphasized the importance of supporting joint research projects, promoting research and innovation, and implementing joint and specialized training programs to develop national skills and competencies.

Technical cooperation areas

The cooperation will also cover the development of infrastructure and technologies supporting artificial intelligence, as well as the creation and testing of prototypes and innovative technical solutions that serve the shared priorities of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.

The two sides also stressed the importance of supporting the responsible use of artificial intelligence technologies and sharing expertise in developing digital government services.

The memorandum of understanding was signed by Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, President of SDAIA, and Mohammed bin Ali Al Qaed, Chief Executive of Bahrain’s Information & eGovernment Authority.
