Trump reassures after Saudi pipeline attack, calls crown prince a close friend

US President Donald Trump described Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman as a close friend.

Commenting on the attack on a Saudi oil pipeline, Trump said during remarks in Ireland that "everything will be fine."

He added that Iran was likely responsible for the attack, noting that "the Houthi militias do not want to fight us."

Regarding developments in the Strait of Hormuz, Trump affirmed that the United States controls the strait.

On the subject of the Iran war, the US president said the conflict would end very soon, adding that once it does, "oil prices will drop."

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the attack on the East-West pipeline in the Riyadh and Madinah regions, which was carried out by several drones launched from Iraq, resulting in injuries and some damage that is currently being addressed.

The ministry's statement explained that Saudi Arabia responded to a request from the Iraqi prime minister to allow the Iraqi government to take measures to prevent further attacks originating from Iraqi territory against the Kingdom and neighboring countries.
