Saudi Ministry of Commerce inspects 2,259 school supply outlets ahead of new academic year

The Ministry of Commerce has conducted 2,259 inspection tours of school supply outlets, including bookstores and stationery shops, across various regions of the Kingdom.

In a statement posted on its X platform account, the ministry said the inspections coincide with preparations for the new academic year, which is scheduled to begin next Sunday, August 23 (corresponding to 10 Rabi Al-Awwal 1448 AH) in most educational regions.

The inspections aimed to verify the availability of school products and their alternatives, price stability, the presence of price tags or electronic pricing, oversight of commercial discounts, and to ensure outlets comply with Ministry of Commerce regulations.
