Lamar Omar Al-Otaibi, a computer engineering student at Taif University, continues to build her career in engineering and technology by combining innovation, project development, entrepreneurship, and knowledge content creation. Her journey reflects ambition that goes beyond academic study, aiming to gain experience and establish professional connections.

She is known for her passion for creative and unconventional ideas, her eagerness to explore interdisciplinary fields, and her drive to turn concepts into impactful projects. Among her early interests is forensic chemistry, a field she says she was the first to explore and share about in her experience.

Al-Otaibi is also developing technology projects, including “Masaf” and her registered project “NeuroBridge – Neural Education Bridge” with the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property. This initiative aims to support individuals with autism spectrum disorder, reflecting her commitment to innovations with social and humanitarian impact.

In innovation and entrepreneurship, she earned second place at the Global Rose and Aromatic Plants Hackathon with a project that uses artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things to support logistics for rose farmers. Her project was also selected among the top ten at the Monsha’at Bootcamp at Taif University.

Her experience extends to building professional partnerships, having signed cooperation agreements with several companies, including “Matrex” during her participation in the first TEDx conference, and “Riyadi Ambassadors” in the second edition. She also attended the LEAP 2026 conference in Riyadh to stay updated on the latest in technology, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation.

Speaking to Ajel, Al-Otaibi said: “I believe ambition is not limited by age, and the university stage is an important opportunity to gain experience, try new things, and build professional relationships. I strive to make the most of every opportunity that helps me develop my skills and turn my ideas into practical projects.”

She explained that her interest in digital content creation led her to launch the “Engineering in Your Pocket” account on TikTok, aiming to introduce students to competitions, hackathons, conferences, and technology opportunities, simplify engineering knowledge, and share experiences that help youth discover new paths and develop their skills.

She added: “The empowerment and support Saudi women receive across all fields, especially in engineering and technology under Vision 2030, is a great motivation for us to continue striving and achieving. I extend my sincere gratitude to King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Prime Minister, for their support and the wide opportunities given to Saudi women to participate in national development.”
