36 environmental violations recorded across Saudi regions

The Special Forces for Environmental Security have apprehended 36 individuals for violating environmental regulations in several regions across the Kingdom.

In detail, Asir Police, in cooperation with the Special Forces for Environmental Security in Asir, arrested a citizen for illegally hunting an endangered wild species, the Nubian ibex, and seized four hunted animals in his possession.

The Special Forces also detained seven citizens for hunting without a permit in the Sharaan Nature Reserve in Madinah region, as well as two citizens for attempting to hunt without a license in the Imam Faisal bin Turki Royal Reserve.

Four citizens were apprehended for grazing violations in the King Abdulaziz and Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserves. Two citizens were cited for failing to follow vegetation protection guidelines by lighting fires outside designated areas in the King Abdulaziz and Imam Faisal bin Turki Royal Reserves. Additionally, two citizens entered protected wild meadows in the Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Royal Reserve with their vehicles.

Three Yemeni residents were caught exploiting mineral deposits in the Riyadh region. Two citizens were found camping illegally in the Imam Faisal bin Turki Royal Reserve. Two Sudanese residents committed environmental violations in Makkah region, and an Indian resident was found dumping concrete materials in Asir region.

Two citizens were apprehended for transporting local firewood in the Imam Faisal bin Turki Royal Reserve, while two others were cited for storing local firewood in the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve and Madinah region. Five citizens and two Yemeni residents were detained by the General Directorate of Border Guard for violating marine activity safety regulations, including fishing without a permit and using prohibited equipment in Makkah, Madinah, and Tabuk regions.
