Saudi Roads Authority exceeds local content target, aims for 70% by 2030

The General Authority for Roads has surpassed its 2025 local content target in its projects, reaching a contribution rate of 56.5% in road projects, exceeding the set goal of 52%.

In a statement on its X platform account, the authority said the positive impact of its local content achievements goes beyond improving road infrastructure quality, also making a tangible contribution to GDP by introducing policies and regulations aimed at boosting local content in the road sector.

The authority confirmed that the Saudi Roads Code helps enable local content in sector projects by setting annual targets for each project according to its nature and size, and by including standards and requirements that support the development of national industry and raise execution quality.

The authority is currently working to achieve a higher local content target of 70% by 2030, in line with a Cabinet decision to raise this percentage as part of the Roads Program under the National Transport and Logistics Strategy. This reflects strong alignment between sector goals and national localization programs to enhance local content.
