Saudi Arabia convoys 3 extra relief jets to earthquake-hit Turkiye and Syria

Saudi Arabia sent 3 more relief planes to earthquake-hit areas in Turkiye and Syria on Friday. The fourth and fifth planes, transporting rescue teams and tools, pumps and medical supplies, landed at the Gaziantep airport in Turkiye, said state agency SPA.

The Saudi search-and-rescue teams came from the General Directorate of Civil Defense, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority and other various volunteer groups.  The sixth plane enclosed 98 tons of aid, with food items, tents, blankets, rugs, shelter stacks and medical provisions.

Meanwhile, the Saudi embassy in Turkiye annonced that the body of a missing Saudi female was found under the rubble of a building in Antakya, where she inhabited. The deceased’s body was recognized in the presence of an employee from the embassy and some of her family members, the statement of the embassy said.
