Egypt reaffirms Saudi and Gulf security as part of its national security

Egypt’s presidency has reiterated that the security of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states is an integral part of Egypt’s national security. Egypt expressed its full reservation, rejection, and condemnation of any attacks or threats to the Kingdom’s sovereignty, stability, territorial integrity, or freedom of navigation in international waterways. The statement stressed that current circumstances require greater solidarity and coordination between the two countries, noting that their interests and objectives are aligned and that there is complete mutual understanding. The visit of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman underscores the full solidarity and brotherhood between Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and all Gulf states.

The statement followed a meeting between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who is also Prime Minister, during the crown prince’s official visit to Egypt.

President El-Sisi welcomed the crown prince’s visit, praising the deep fraternal ties between the two countries. He also conveyed his greetings to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and extended congratulations to the king, the crown prince, and the Saudi people on the upcoming Saudi National Day, which falls on September 23.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed his appreciation for President El-Sisi’s congratulations and the warm welcome and hospitality. He conveyed greetings from King Salman to the president, emphasized the strength of the brotherly bonds between the two nations, and expressed his pleasure at visiting Egypt and meeting with President El-Sisi. The crown prince also highlighted the continuous development of bilateral relations and the mutual commitment to further coordination, cooperation, and exploring new opportunities across various fields.

The crown prince and President El-Sisi agreed on the need to intensify efforts to implement practical measures to enhance bilateral cooperation and remove any obstacles to increasing trade and investment, aiming to elevate relations in line with the historical ties and strategic proximity between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

The talks also addressed regional developments and current challenges. President El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering support for Saudi Arabia and all Arab states in facing regional circumstances. Both sides stressed the importance of strengthening coordination and communication between their countries in this context.
