Yemeni cabinet strongly condemns renewed Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia

The Yemeni cabinet held a meeting on Saturday chaired by Prime Minister Shaea Mohsen Al-Zandani to discuss the latest military, security, political, economic, and humanitarian developments amid the ongoing and escalating military actions by the Houthi militia, backed by Iran, and their impact on national security, regional stability, and the safety of maritime routes.

The cabinet reviewed the progress of military operations on several fronts, the level of combat readiness, and the humanitarian situation resulting from the Houthi escalation, including new waves of displacement. The government’s measures in humanitarian, service, health, supply, and economic sectors were also discussed to ensure citizens are not adversely affected.

In an official statement, the cabinet reiterated the government’s strongest condemnation of the renewed Houthi attacks on the territory of Saudi Arabia, affirming Yemen’s full solidarity with the Kingdom and its legitimate right to protect its security, people, and resources. The statement stressed that using Yemeni territory as a platform to target Saudi Arabia is an assault on the interests of the Yemeni people before being a threat to its neighbors, and exposes the foreign agenda driving the Houthi militia.

The cabinet expressed the government’s appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s sincere and brotherly support, including political, economic, military, and humanitarian assistance to Yemen and its legitimate leadership. It also commended the positions of other friendly and allied countries supporting Yemen and its people during these challenging times.

The Yemeni cabinet affirmed that the government is not waiting for the crisis to end before acting, but is managing the situation, addressing its consequences, and preparing for what comes next. It emphasized that state institutions will continue to fulfill their responsibilities under the most difficult circumstances, prioritizing results, fieldwork, and enhanced coordination among state agencies.

The cabinet stressed that the current phase requires unified government action, institutional discipline, swift response, and integration across military, security, humanitarian, economic, and service sectors to maintain citizens’ resilience and strengthen the state’s ability to face challenges.
