Execution carried out for Yemeni resident convicted of murder in Makkah region

Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Interior announced today the execution of a Yemeni resident convicted of murder in the Makkah region.

According to the statement, Ziyad Waleed Mohammed Abdullah Haidarah (Yemeni national) killed Naseem Mohammed Mohammed Radman Qaed (also Yemeni) by striking him on the head with a sharp object, resulting in his death following a dispute between the two.

Authorities apprehended the perpetrator, and following an investigation, he was charged with the crime. After being referred to the competent court, a verdict was issued confirming his guilt and sentencing him to death in retribution. The ruling was upheld on appeal and confirmed by the Supreme Court, and a royal order was issued to carry out the sentence in accordance with Islamic law.

The statement added that the execution of Ziyad Waleed Mohammed Abdullah Haidarah (Yemeni national) was carried out on Wednesday, March 20, 1448 AH, corresponding to September 2, 2026, in the Makkah region.

The Ministry of Interior affirmed that this announcement underscores the Saudi government's commitment to maintaining security, upholding justice, and enforcing Islamic law against anyone who threatens public safety, sheds blood, or violates the right to life. The ministry also warned that anyone considering such acts will face the prescribed legal punishment.
