Arab League chief condemns Iranian and proxy attacks on Saudi Arabia, Jordan

Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy has strongly condemned the repeated targeting of oil facilities in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province and drone attacks on the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, describing them as a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region and undermines efforts to reinforce peace and stability.

In a statement issued today, Fahmy stressed that the continuation of such attacks requires a firm response from the international community to prevent their recurrence, hold those responsible accountable, and ensure the region does not become an open arena for threats against vital and economic infrastructure. He emphasized that respecting the sovereignty of states and refraining from targeting their critical facilities are fundamental pillars for maintaining regional security and stability.

Fahmy also affirmed that the security and territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia and Jordan are integral parts of the Arab collective security system.

The Secretary-General reiterated the Arab League's support for all legitimate measures taken by Saudi Arabia and Jordan to protect their national security and safeguard their territories, in accordance with international law and the United Nations Charter.
