Saudi Passports Authority showcases contactless e-gate at LEAP 2026

The General Directorate of Passports is showcasing its contactless electronic gate at the Ministry of Interior’s pavilion during the LEAP 2026 conference and exhibition, taking place from August 31 to September 3, 2026, at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Mulham, north of Riyadh.

Visitors to the Ministry of Interior’s pavilion were introduced to the contactless e-gate, one of the latest self-service border crossing technologies. The system allows travelers to pass through by simply waving their hand over a reader, without physical contact. The gate automatically verifies the traveler’s identity and opens without the need to present a passport or provide fingerprints.

During the exhibition, the Passports Authority is also highlighting its most innovative digital solutions designed to streamline the movement of travelers through international entry points. These efforts aim to strengthen digital operations and leverage modern technologies to enhance service efficiency and improve the user experience.
