Saudi man executed in Madinah for repeat hashish trafficking

Authorities in the Madinah region on Saturday, August 29, 2026 (16 Rabi Al-Awwal 1448H), carried out the death sentence against Firas bin Ahmed bin Saleh Al-Sabah, a Saudi national, after he was convicted for a second time of trafficking hashish by transporting the drug.

The Ministry of Interior stated that security forces arrested the offender, and investigations led to charges being filed against him. He was referred to the competent court, which found him guilty and sentenced him to death as a discretionary punishment.

The ministry added that the verdict was upheld on appeal and confirmed by the Supreme Court, and a royal order was issued to implement the ruling in accordance with Islamic law.

Warning against drug trafficking

The Ministry of Interior reiterated the government's commitment to protecting citizens and residents from the dangers of drugs, emphasizing that the harshest penalties will be imposed on smugglers and traffickers due to the severe harm they cause to individuals and society.

The ministry warned that anyone who commits such offenses will face the prescribed legal punishment, in order to safeguard the security and safety of the community.
