Over 1.27 million foreign pilgrims arrive for Umrah since season start

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, in cooperation with the Guests of God Service Program, has announced significant growth in the number of Umrah pilgrims arriving in the Kingdom since the start of the Umrah season on July 1 (15 Dhu al-Hijjah) until the end of Muharram 1448 AH, amid ongoing enhancements to digital and operational services in line with Saudi Vision 2030 goals.

The ministry stated that “the number of arrivals on Umrah visas reached 931,500 pilgrims during this period, marking a 22.5% increase compared to the same period last year.”

It also noted that “the total number of Umrah pilgrims from outside the Kingdom surpassed 1.27 million, supported by an integrated system of services for the Guests of God, in line with Vision 2030 and the Guests of God Service Program.”

The ministry emphasized that “these figures reflect the strong support the Guests of God service system receives from the country’s leadership, as well as ongoing cooperation among government agencies and continuous development of digital and operational services, all contributing to an improved experience and higher quality of services for pilgrims and visitors.”

According to statistics from July 1 (15 Dhu al-Hijjah) to the end of Muharram 1448 AH, 75% of international Umrah pilgrims entered the Kingdom via air, while 25% arrived through land and sea ports.

In terms of nationality, Pakistan topped the list of countries sending Umrah pilgrims, with 200,000 arrivals, followed by Indonesia with around 170,000, and Iraq in third place with a total of 130,000 pilgrims.

The ministry added that the Umrah system continues to develop its digital and operational services, facilitate access, and improve performance efficiency, in line with Vision 2030 objectives, to provide a smoother and higher-quality Umrah experience from planning the journey to the pilgrims’ departure.
