The ministry added, via its official account on X, that the initiative is part of health cooperation agreements between the two countries.

Eligibility requirements include Saudi nationality, being no older than 20 years, and holding a high school diploma in the natural sciences track with a cumulative average of at least 85 percent out of 100, or 3.40 out of 4. Applicants must also have achieved at least 80 percent in science subjects (physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics), and scored no less than 70 percent in both the aptitude and achievement tests. A minimum score of 5.5 in IELTS or its equivalent in TOEFL is also required.

Further conditions stipulate that applicants must not have previously received a scholarship decision for the same academic level, must pass the ministry's selection process, and must have their high school certificate accredited by the relevant authority if issued outside the Kingdom. Full-time study and residence in the country of scholarship are mandatory.
